The Installed Hardware Window
To display the Installed Hardware Window, select it from the Window menu. It will also be shown when you install a gadget from the Gadget Guide window.
From the Installed Hardware Window, you can view and operate your controllers and devices. This is also a good starting point when you want to edit the settings of a device.
Controllers list |
A list of controllers installed in your home. The name, connection, and notes are displayed for each controller. Typically there will be only one controller as shown here. |
Devices list |

The easiest way to add a USB controller is to just plug it in. Thinking Home will assume you want it installed and take care of it for you. For other controller models and devices, visit the Gadget Guide to select a model to install.
If your controller is not USB, it is important to edit the settings and select a serial port.
When you use a schedule stored in a controller, it does not need to talk to your Mac. Having done this, you can turn the Mac off.
